Six Sentence Sunday- #sixsunday

07/01- From Ancient Enemies-

Lightly Caroline put a hand on Tama's chest. Her eyes widened as he leaned closer to her. This was insane! Men didn't hit on little shy Dr. Hardigan, either they were friendly colleagues or family.

Now here comes this new man into her world giving her incredible looks, threatening her peaceful world, and making things inside her jitter like never before. And damn him, he looked good enough to eat at the same time.

Hump Day Hunks-

06/27- A Hunk to Be Feared-

  From my time-travel- One Wish-

Across town in a small brick house, Captain Nero Lorgan sat behind his desk in his comfy study. With fire bursting forth from his eyes he looked from Georgey to Bo, who had just arrived to tell of their success. “You are back so you must have captured Miss Grant and dropped her at the Inn for the night as you were ordered to do.”

Bo looked at Georgey pointedly and Georgey tried to explain. “Her driver was to smart and to fast. We couldn’t keep up with them. So no we didn’t get ahold of Miss Grant.”

Nero sat up in his chair and slightly leaned over the desk to glare at the two men. “Let me get this straight, you let her driver whisk her away, without continuing the chase? Then instead you come back here empty handed?”

Georgey shifted uncomfortably in his chair and Bo shot him an evil look, making him sputter, “No Cap’n, we didn’t continue the chase, but we didn’t come back empty handed either.”

Bo shrunk down in his chair, as the captain was sure hatred was sure to have written across his face. “It was his fault Cap’n. He said it would be okay, but I didn’t like it none and I told him so.”

Nero held up a hand to silence Bo. “What do you mean you didn’t come back empty handed?”

Georgey squeaked as Nero’s hand shot out swiftly and grabbed the front of his shirt in a tight grasp. “Well you see Cap’n, we was chasen after Miss Grant, until we almost ran over this woman in the middle of the road. I figured there won’t no way we could catch Miss Grant and you said you needed a wife. Then here was this little purdy thing looking lost and frightened. I just thought one woman is as good as another.”

Nero groaned and released Georgey, “Ok so where is this woman now?”

Music Monday- Music for Those Who Can’t Forget

06/23- Music for Those Who Can’t Forget-

In New Beginnings we learn that there is more to Megumi’s past that tragedy and violence. There was a shinning ray of love and joy in her life, one of her best friends and her first love Ryuu. Using the violence she had seen as a child against her, the Yankii girl gang had reeled her in successfully breaking her and Ryuu up. But even being apart, Megumi couldn’t forget and Ryuu is constantly in her heart if not on her mind.

This is a song that reminds me of their relationship. It helped me write a lot of back story on Megumi. This song gave her happiness instead of just pain and misery.  Gackt’s Flower is about the woman he lost when he was very young, who no matter what can never be replaced in his heart. Some say it is a song about his ex-wife. His first love who left him after he became famous. His fans wrote her threatening letters and scared her away. Or so the tales go. Who knows, so don’t quote me on that. If you remember I mentioned Gackt before, on the week I did Hyde's Shallow Sleep. As promised here is one of his friend's videos.

P.S. Please excuse my lack of #sixsunday this week. I got wrapped up in the blog hop and family stuff and didn't realiuze I had forgotten to post my entry until 3pm. I'll save it for next Sunday. So don't miss it.

My SFR Brigade Mid-Summer Blog Hop entry from Talkers-

The moment they stepped out of the plane they were assaulted by the dry, dusty atmosphere of the planet. It was so dry and humid, it literally sucked the moisture out of your mouth forcing you to take small hacking coughs before you could breathe. The sun was high in the sky, bright and fiery, making the dry air worse with the increasing heat, making her dark jeans stick to her legs with sweat uncomfortably in a few spots.

Beyond the stretch of dusty runway and docking area was a long metal fence attached to the long sunny yellow airport terminal.. For the first time on this tour, the airport was mob central. On the other side of the long metal fence was crowded with fans waving, screeches and screams. Forming a tight circle around the band, Shayle led them toward a gate in the fence where their drivers were waiting on the other side with two dark SUVs.

As they walked, Shayle slowly looked through the crowd. A pair of wide bright blue eyes accompanied by short spiky blond hair caught her attention. Stopping dead in her tracks, Shayle shot a fist into the air, the unmistakable code for stop.

Flicking the hand part way open, she pointed her middle and index finger upwards and her thumb out to the side creating a backward L. Closing and opening her hand again, she held up one finger. Closing the hand completely into a fist again for full stop, she gave the next code. Flattening her hand out, she sliced it through the air, so they would know to stop and not move again until they were confident it was safe.

Pushing Ritter back a few steps so he was against Petrus, the other guards closed the circle around them. Then, she walked on, leaving them five feet from the tall gate. Forcing the metal gate open, she slid through the opening quickly and slammed it right back closed behind her.

Then, instantly she was running, shoving her way through the crowd. The blond girl’s eyes locked with hers and she gasped knowing she had been seen. Turning, the girl tried to push her way through the crowd, but Shayle was too quick, grabbing the girl by her right arm and the longest strands of her hair. Swinging the girl around, Shayle slammed her face first into the closest part of the metal fence. Jerking the girl’s arms behind her, Shayle shoved a knee into the girl’s lower back to hold her struggling form in place.

To try to calm the crowd, Shayle yelled. “Everyone back up right now and quiet down.”

Not daring to argue with her, the crowd quieted to a few whispers and Shayle could hear them shuffling backwards. “For the crimes of stalking with the intention to terrorize and possess, you are under arrest by the authority of Galactic Security.”

The girl’s thin body shook softly as she started to cry and mumble. “I meant no harm. I love him. I only wanted to be with him forever.”

Letting out a huff, Shayle continued to hold the girl in place with one hand and search her for weapons with the other, while they waited for airport security. “Honey, most women alive love him, but he doesn’t love any of them for longer than a one night stand. You are only one of thousands he has played. If you didn’t realize that I feel sorry for you, but stalking I’m afraid to tell you, is a crime punishable by law.”

Hump Day Hunks plus special reminder

06/20 A Hunk in Big Trouble-

Nero watched with his heart pounding in his chest, as Melanie ran toward him. From the
corner of his eye, he saw sunlight flash off of metal, as a gun was raised, then heard the
deafening sound of a bullet being ejected from a gun's chamber. His legs moved of their own
accord, while he ran as fast as he could, then grabbed Melanie and swung her around.

The impact of the bullet racked her body sending trimmers all the way through his. Nero
saw the bullet go through her arm and knew the second her life blurred before her eyes taking her
to a world of nothingness, as well feel her body become almost boneless. Nero slung her up to
lie in his arms, ran and leaped into the air.

Their bodies flew over the ship's railing and they fell straight into the waters below.
Wave after wave pulled him under, pulled him deeper, then deeper still, trying to rip Melanie
from his arms. The fight didn't leave him, as he kicked harder, refusing to let the evil waters
steal his adored wife.

Using every bit of strength he had left in his body, he kicked his way to the surface and
gasped for air. The stinging water filled his eyes and forced him to blink to be able to see.
Finally he could look around, which helped show him the way to Sully, who was forcefully
rowing toward them.

When they were close enough Nero shoved Mel into the small boat, before pulling
himself in after her. He laid there for a moment, trying desperately to draw in a breath of fresh
air, all the air his poor lungs were begging for. There was still shouts echoing from the ship
behind them, which forced him into action. He picked up the second set of oars and started
paddling along with Sully, with every muscle in his body screaming in anguish.

Music Monday-

  06/18 Music for the Hopeful-

Young love starts with an open heart filled with hope. One of the characters that first appears in Book 3 of my Zogone saga, Ancient Enemies, is a great example. Her name is Jade and she is half wiccan/ half vampire. A witch named Lady Shard Bartram, Jade’s mother, was attacked by a vampire and ended up giving birth to Jade as a result of the attack.

At puberty, Jade starts blacking out, attacking people, so with good reason she perceives herself as a monster. Before the Zogone soldiers find her she becomes isolated, withdrawn, terrified to get close to anyone. That is until she meets Borus Hardigan. Borus is a teenager only a short year older than her with major monster issues of his own.

In each other they find what they need to feel human again. Meeting Borus is like waking up and finding what she had always been looking for and instantly they knew they belonged together.
As a special side note, I had to share this fun fact. When this video first came out, I got an amazing surprise.
Whenever this video came on TV I noticed something. My son’s ferret Scooter would stop whatever he was doing- eating, playing, ect to just turn around and watch TV. It seems that this is his favorite song and he is completely in love with Taylor Swift.

Yes, that sounds nuts. But in her next video ‘Mine’, her boyfriend and her argue and she cries. When Scooter saw this, he ran across the room, hide his face in my arm and hiccupped until I changed the channel. No one makes Scooty’s Taylor cry. And there is some real young love for you! :)

When you spend all day sitting with the lap top and little critters, you notice all sorts of things about them. Plus, the song is great for writing YA scenes.

Six Sentence Sunday- #sixsunday

06/17 From New Beginnings-

"Come on girl, don't be such a pansy. Suck it up and get the hell out of here."

Wherever here might be she had no idea. The last thing she remembered was their plane rushing toward the ground. Honestly, she would have thought she had died and was now caught in limbo somewhere, before being reincarnated. But there was no way she was dead, because if she were dead she would not flipping hurt so bad.

Hump Day Hunks-

06/13- #7-  A Hunk on a Mission- From Past Regrets-

Sam curled up in a borrowed bunk in one of the guest quarters, with his hands crossed under his head and his long legs stretched out to where they crossed at the ankles.  For the last hour, since he had plopped down on the bunk his thoughts had led him a merry chase, forcing him to stare at the wall as if lost in space.
Not only had Ginger paid him the least bit of recognition when he entered Daimlar’s office, but she had gotten the heck out of Dodge the second she was able to.  Instead of being offended by Ginger’s actions, they had given Sam hope.

If Ginger had shaken his hand and acted like an old acquaintance, he would have been worried, but no, not his Ginger!  No, Ginger acted as if he didn’t exist, then when she was forced to face up to knowing him, she ignored him.  Then she had excused herself formally without directly communicating with him.

Obviously Ginger was totally pissed off to find out he was going to be her partner for this mission.  People who didn’t care didn’t get pissed.  Girls who still had feelings for a man, definitely did get more than a little upset. That had to mean Ginger still felt something for him. Something was better than nothing.

Four years ago, Sam had blamed himself for all the world’s problems just because of his own violent birth.  It took four hard, lonely years for him to realize he had always helped more than he had harmed the world.
It also took those same four years for him to realize what a damn fool he had been to walk away from the one woman who had ever looked at him as more than a monster.  She had looked at him like a man, one she cared about and he had lost her, because of stupid pride.

When Josh had told him about this mission, Sam jumped at the chance to be the appointed Warrior Delegate.  Josh had even worked it to look like the Delegates had come to him, forcing him to prove himself, when everyone there knew he had nothing to prove.  Every Warrior Delegate that knew him, knew they could count on him in any situation.  Sam had busted his butt to gain the Delegates’ respect and his position among them.

Screw the military, Sam had volunteered for this mission for one reason, to use the time alone with Ginger to win her back.  No, that wasn’t right.  They had never made it to the point of actually being together, but by the time their mission was finished, they would be together if he had anything to say about it.

Over the last four years, Sam had made a life for himself with the Zogones.  Not only had he thoroughly became a soldier for the Warrior Delegates, but a well-known one.  All four years were spent working under Josh, whom had been the one to find him on Earth and bring him into their group.  Josh had become closer to Sam than best friends.  It almost seemed like Josh was the brother Sam had never had, but always wanted.

Being stationed on Adrivar with Josh meant that at any free period of time they had, they could spend it together or on Space Station Swanson with Brian and Arlene.  Considering they looked so young, it surprised Sam that he felt just like one of their grandchildren, just like Josh. Unsurprisingly though they had always treated Sam like family, like one of their own. Arlene worried about him and Brian was always handy with advice, just like good grandparents should be.

Being an Earthling like Arlene made them closer than some of the others, though.  So, when Josh had suggested this mission, Sam had talked it over with Arlene first.  Arlene had been his confident where Ginger was concerned for quite a while now.  Arlene didn’t want to give away too much of Ginger’s personal feelings, but did give Sam hope. She didn’t tell of Ginger’s lost hope or constant love, but she did give Sam hope that he might be able to win Ginger over. She reassured him that it was the right thing to do.

With Arlene’s blessing to push her granddaughter as hard as necessary, Sam had boarded the ship to the Galactic Security Headquarters space station. After checking in, he had showered, shaved and dressed in a clean dress uniform before showing up at Colonel Diamlar’s office, all for the sake of catching Ginger’s attention. He thought he might have done that and more, even angering her by looking too good to her.
He could tell he had gotten her attention, even getting under her skin. Now all he had to do was keep her focused on him.  They would do their mission, but they would also spend that time getting to really know each other all over again.

With a grin, Sam decided to give Ginger a wide girth until they left for their mission, but once they were on a ship alone, that was a different story.  From that moment on, he promised himself to be relentless in his pursuit of Ginger.

Music Monday-

  06/11- Music to Make Magic-

For a very special music day… Tonight is my son’s Spring Concert for chorus at school. So this Music Monday is for him.

Writing scenes with witches takes a little magic in itself. In Book 3- Ancient Enemies and Book 4- New Beginnings of my Zogone saga the witches of the Bartram clan step in. Actually this family first appeared in my book Vale, the first book in my Bartram series. Why have you never heard of this you wonder? Because witches are a tricky breed. Vale was never completed and book two of the series lies in a pile of series guidelines and notes.

The main female character Petra Bartram is a willful young woman, who still to this day (five years later) fights me. When she meets Vale she chooses him for her life mate, not bothering to give him a say in the matter. The problem is she becomes so single-minded in becoming Vale’s, that she starts to come off solely depended on him. It was almost as if she became completely useless without him and being a very strong empowered witch that was just uncalled for.

So, until she straightens up and becomes an independent woman again, she gets to sit in the bad girl corner. On the other hand, her sister Snow got tired of waiting for her turn at a love story. Despite the Bartram family time line I had written up for the Bartram series, Snow slides into the Zogone saga.

Snow pointed at Josh and in the way of Bartram women said, “This one is mine,” dragging her Aunt Shard and Cousin Jade along with a couple of other relatives through the Zogone sags.

To write the witch clan’s magic, I borrowed a little magic from King Mickey. This is the theme song for one of my son’s favorite video game series, Kingdom Hearts. It is the brain child of Square Enix and Disney. My T.J. not only loves this game, but all of the games by Square Enix. His dream is to one day move to Japan and become a game designer for their company.

This video is actually a clip from the beginning of Kingdom Hearts. Watch it and find a little of Sora’s magic!

Six Sentence Sunday- #sixsunday

 06/10- From Talkers-

Slouched against the door, he had his head leaned against the window. His eyes were closed and his arms were crossed loosely over his chest. Even with a baseball cap pulled down over his forehead and plain, no makeup or fancy clothes, he was distracting and it was making her nervous.

Drumming her fingertips against the steering wheel, she began to bob her head to imaginary music, then hummed to herself softly. Ritter startled her by dropping a hand across hers to stop her tapping.

  “Do I make you nervous?”

Hump Day Hunks- #06- A Hunk to Come-

Hump Day Hunks- #06- A Hunk to Come-

T  his is a little sneak peek of what is going on in the life of Petrus Ederhard, first seen as the twin brother of Ritter Ederhard hero of Haven Sent saga Book 1- Talkers.
With the stalkers caught, his father back in his life and Ritter making a family of his own, it is time for Petrus to take a hard look at his life.

Unedited excerpt from W.I.P. You Were Wrong!, Book 2 in my Haven Sent saga.

Grabbing a random acoustic guitar off a hook on the wall, Petrus fingers a guitar pick out of the strings and spontaneously starts to strum a tune. His mind felt clouded and confused as he thought over his reaction to meeting Aidan that afternoon.

Sure he cared for Val, she was hot and he seriously wanted to sleep with her, but his barely restrained jealousy had surprised him. His usual attitude would have been to say whatever and to hell with a girl who was in love with someone else. A girl in love with someone else was just one more woman who was a headache begging him for a hopeless commitment.

His reaction to Val loving Aidan was a sudden urge to hide her away for himself. He had a two-year-old’s reaction of wanting to have a fit for someone touching his property. Yes, he had women… loooots of women. But he had never wanted to stake a claim before, never wanted to shout that another person belonged to him. Like you belong to me and I belong to you. That smelled like a commitment with the strength of fresh onions, peppers and garlic in an old world Italian kitchen.

Rolling himself across the room, Petrus scooped up one of the notebooks Ritter used to write lyrics and a pen. Not thinking about what he was doing, Petrus started scribbling down everything rushing through his mind.

After thirty minutes of writing, scribbling, ripping up paper and cursing under his breath, Petrus dropped the notebook on the floor between his feet. Only then, with the words firmly swimming around in his mind, did he go back to strumming his guitar.

(Song lyrics are written here, but not sharing them yet!)

Petrus hung his guitar carefully back on the wall, then set his notebook on the long black soundboard lining the left wall. With one hand on each of the notebook, Petrus dropped his head, closed his eyes for a moment and sighed halfheartedly.

Then turning, he kicked his stool against the empty far wall with a curse. Whatever Val was doing to him was bound to drive him mad. No woman should have so much control over his emotions. All the confusion, thoughts, feelings of jealousy and hurt, left him pissy and madder than hell.

It was just a simple matter of dealing with the situation. Once they slept together, she would be out from under his skin. She was just another play thing, a distraction and she only meant so much right now because of the bruises she had put on his ego.

Once he had her his interest would fade. Like she said, she would just be another notch on his bedpost, just another forgotten lover to add to his long list of past lovers. Then he could go back to only worrying about the situation with his father.

Music Monday

06/04- Music For Angry Girl Power and the Slightly Heartbroken-

One of the main ‘theme songs’ I used when writing His Kiss is 99 Times By: Kate Voegele. For the heartbroken, emotionally fearful, tempted and hopeful. Or in other words someone who has been badly hurt, yet finally worked through their pain. When they are ready to move on… This is the song for them.

The spunky attitude and full on girl power that goes with it doesn’t hurt either. Especially for me. Looking through all my play lists, I’ve noticed I have a lot of angry girl rockers on my list, from bands as hard as Lita Ford, Joan Jett and Pink to the younger variety like The Veronicas, or even a song or two by Meg& Dia, Orianthi and Just Kait.

Six Sentence Sunday- #sixsunday

06/03 From One Wish-

Knowing he would never hear her over the roar of the battle, she had one of two choices do something or stand here and watch him die. She choose to do something.

A quick survey around and above her gave her the perfect idea. Near by  she climbed a pole, grabbed one of the many ropes holding up their sail and jumped, propelling her weight through the air. Holding on for dear life, grinning for all she was worth, she thrilled at this new adventure. Well I did dream of being an acrobat as a child. She laughed to herself.
